Last episode of Boston Legal? A few words…

By Chris Moore:

How sad is it that there are no more new Boston Legal episodes to look forward to?  No more soulful grunts in the opening music?  No more balcony scenes with Denny and Alan?  No more high profile, current events-based court drama?  No more paintball gun violence by Denny?  No more pops and clicks by Jerry?  No more attempts by Alan and Denny to win Shirley’s love?

And no more Katie Lloyd??

I really don’t have much to say on the topic, other than the fact that Jim and I have been avid fans of Boston Legal since day one.  As recently as this year, we celebrated the season premiere by buying pretzel sticks that resembled cigars and eating/”smoking” them along with Alan and Denny in the closing balcony scene of the episode.  Now, I suppose I can see this as an opportunity to get more work done or go to bed an hour earlier on Mondays, but it’s just not worth it.  Boston Legal has truly been a great way to jumpstart the week for me.  It may sound silly, but I look foward to being able to sit down with Jim (and sometimes Becky) and enjoy this show — one of our mutual favorites on television.

So, I couldn’t just let it pass without some sort of a blog post.

And, as if this wasn’t obvious, I have more than a little hatred — rational, or otherwise — burning in my soul for the ABC network right now.  What better way to release it?

Thank you, Boston Legal — it’s been a great run.  What I will miss most is the characters (I even grew to like Carl Sack!) and the ridiculous situations they got themselves into.  Truly, there is not a show on television with Boston Legal‘s combination of serious issues and humor, and I’ll greatly miss it.

Yay for TV on DVD!

WCJM Presents: “The Tenth Anniversary Show”!!

By Chris Moore:

Hey, there, all you listeners out there in Internet radio land!  Have I got news for you!…

The Saturday after Thanksgiving was a momentous occasion for those of us at Fusco-Moore Productions, as all seven original WCJM cast members re-united for a nearly three hour morning show that took place in the morning!  (If you’re a long-time fan, you may be aware that we often record in the late afternoon or evening.)

The title of this new installment is the Tenth Anniversary Show, as it was recorded only three months after the ten year anniversary of our very first WCJM Moore Hits in the Morning show, starring (then) only Chris, Jim, and Mike.  Well, ten years later we’re still recording these shows, now with the longtime additions of Alberto, Dave, Matt, and Jeff.

This show is truly our best yet.  I say this without having heard the show yet, but just being there…  If you combine a year’s worth of quality skits, an amazing variety of music chosen by all seven cast members, and fairly equal distribution of talking by all during the show, you get “The Tenth Anniversary Show.”

So, to answer the question that’s on everyone’s minds…  How do I watch the show??

Well, I’m glad you asked.  It’s as easy as going to www.wcjm.com and clicking on the “Moore Hits in the Morning” section.

Chris Moore’s 200th Subscriber

By Chris Moore:

Well, it’s happened…  I’ve finally reached a milestone on YouTube: my 200th subscriber!

I passed the 200 mark on my YouTube.com channel a few days ago, but it’s been a crazy week.  When I wasn’t at school planning, teaching, grading, and filling out paperwork, I was at home helping Jim pick out the perfect Christmas tree (if you’re a fan of symmetry, you’d agree!), recording Laptop Sessions, and watching TNA Impact! with the hope of possibly seeing Christian Cage’s triumphant return to the program.  That’s the question on my mind now: Is Christian staying with TNA?  Is he going back to WWE?  I’ve spent a considerable amount of time and energy searching this online, and there are some decent arguments (with somewhat shady and vague sources, mostly) for each side.  I’ll just have to wait and hope.  Truly, he’s one of the reasons I watch every week.  Even Sting, although he’s been there every week, has been in a transition period of sorts, having made friends of the bad guys.

Oh, well.  What was this post about again?  Oh, yeah…

I have 200 subscribers!  Thanks so much to all who have clicked that little “Subscribe” button above my YouTube channel icon.  I hope my videos continue to interest and entertain you!

Coming up next on the blog:  A WCJM announcement from yours truly, and then my Laptop Session of the day…

Jim Fusco Reaches 140,000 YouTube Video Views!

I love when these milestones are so close together, as Jeff posted yesterday about his latest YouTube count.  I thought I would follow suit with a similar, albeit shorter, list describing my Top 5 highest viewed Laptop Sessions videos.  I do have a couple of my “How To” videos topping my overall list- the Top 5 Laptop Sessions cover songs videos are as follows:

“I’m So Lonely” (The Beach Boys) – 5968 views

This is exactly what the Laptop Sessions is all about: taking a song that everyone wrote off previously and turning it into an acoustic song.  This way, you get to hear the actual song and, in this case, not the cheesy mid-80s production.

“Do You Want To Know A Secret” (The Beatles) – 4541 views

Can’t explain this one.  I don’t even truly love this song- it’s just one that was a nice song that I thought would translate well on my nylon string guitar.  But, this is one of my oldest videos, so I can only hope that it’s a trend- the longer my videos are online, the faster they’ll get more views!

“Wouldn’t It Be Nice” (The Beach Boys) – 4075 views

You know why this song is in the top three?  Because I can hit the notes.  I don’t mean to sound pretentious, but honestly, that’s what separates my video from every other so-called “cover” on YouTube.  But, then again, that’s what we all try to accomplish on a daily basis here!

“You May Be Right” (Billy Joel) – 3948 views

I can’t believe this one.  I honestly did it because I love the song, but didn’t think it would end up in my top 5!  I think it’s because I turned an electric song acoustic…and that I have a ton of energy in this one.

“Let It Ride” (Bachman Turner Overdrive) – 3968 views

This one’s the most surprising of them all.  The other videos were added six months or more ago.  This one?  Three months.  I think this video’s popularity follows the same logic of “You May Be Right”, as I took an electric song, used an acoustic, and let it ride!

Of course, I look forward to the next milestone, as it’ll be a big one: 150,000!  Congrats to Jeff and we’re both looking forward to Chris’ next YouTube view round number!
