WCJM Free Internet Radio Station: “The Second Show” – 1999

By WCJM Free Internet Radio:

On April 29, 1999, Jim Fusco received a sound mixer for his birthday. He was so excited about the possibilities this mixer could have, that he called up Chris Moore to do another radio show sometime after his birthday (probably in the summer), Chris, Jim, and Mike took the air once again. This time, Chris brought some of his CDs over, and the three each got to pick their own songs to play.

The content of the free Internet radio show was fine, with Chris’ rendition of “Moron Jeopardy”, (you have to admit you’re a moron to play), but something was very wrong. Jim was using the mixer for pretty much the first time, so his inexperience dragged the quality of the tape down. He had plugged in one microphone and two CD players into the three microphone slots because he did not have the correct wires to hook the CD players up to the “CD In” slots. But, because microphones are only a low level input, and the CD players are high level inputs, the power of the CD players made the levels fluctuate up and down throughout the show. The next problem was that Jim could only be heard! Mike and Chris got their own microphones, but they were hooked up to the karaoke they used. The karaoke’s volume was up all of the way, making Chris and Mike’s microphones seem too loud. So they turned down the levels of the microphones so low, that on the tape they cannot be heard when the music is playing (on very low levels)!

But this didn’t deter them from going onward, for it only was a stepping stone to perfection, which the next tape almost achieved.

WCJM Free Internet Radio Station: “The World Series Show” – 2000

By WCJM Free Internet Radio:

The Subway Series.  Every New York baseball fan’s worst nightmare.  Everyone was getting on the World Series bandwagon, so WCJM free Internet radio decided to also.  This show came on the night of game 1 of the series, and had the regular cast back of Chris, Jim, Mike, Alberto, and Dave after the 3/5 cast of the Comedy Show.

This is the first Moore Hits in the Morning program to be recorded digitally on an MD, and the sound quality is impeccable.  All the songs have a theme that intertwines with the World Series.  For instance, the Mets’ motto is “You gotta believe”, and the song “I’m a believer” by the Monkees was played.

Probably the most significant part of this show was a tribute done by Dave for the victims of the USS Cole, playing a song in their honor.

But the newest addition to the WCJM family made his first appearance on the show.  A little, cute, stuffed bear named Stuffy the Bear.  Well, he made a four and a half minute clip and instantly made the whole cast uproar in laughter.  Making fun of everyone on the show, it was a non-stop laugh riot that would appear on all future shows.  Stuffy has entered the building!

This ground-breaking episode is one of many available at no charge through the WCJM free Internet radio website!

WCJM Free Internet Radio Station: “The Comedy Christmas Show” – 1999

By WCJM Free Internet Radio:

Exactly two weeks after the first Christmas tape, Chris, Jim, and Alberto assembled at Jim’s house after school on December 10, 1999.  This would turn out to be the last show of the millennium, and it was another Christmas show.  This one, however, had Chris’ comedy Christmas music mixed with the classics from various television specials.  They dedicated this tape to Mr. Hill, Jim’s math teacher, with hopes of playing this sample of authentic free Internet radio in front of the class.  It never happened.  Mr. Hill did make a copy of the tape, and with the fun they had making it, it certainly wasn’t a wasted effort.

But there was trouble beginning the tape.  The hookups were wrong, and Jim spent a lot of precious time setting up for the show and making everything work.  The show finally started a while after Mike returned home from school, which was much later than expected, but the show went on without a hitch.  There is some feedback on the tape, and Jim sounds a little disgusted in the beginning (from all the work he had to do to fix the connections), but the rest of the show was great.

The cast then did something they hadn’t done before on the air.  They sang two songs on the tape- White Christmas, and their own 5 greatest and other inventions of the millennium song written by Jim (in the tune of The Twelve Days of Christmas).  The songs came out surprisingly well (considering their singing “ability”) but Jim wasn’t so hopeful.  He jokingly stated that, “We’re basically making fun of ourselves”, but was proven wrong by the creativity of Chris singing the lead of White Christmas. The time was very tight, as Chris had to go to his sister’s basketball game, but Chris stalled for time, and the tape was finished.  It shows how the cast can turn any event into a hilarious one!

As you can see, the excitement was all too much for the boys to record only one show.  Join in the excitement by checking out all the great free Internet radio programming at the WCJM website.

WCJM Free Internet Radio Station: “The Originals Show” – 2007

By WCJM Free Internet Radio:

Six months from the last Moore Hits in the Morning broadcast, Jim thought it was time to do another free Internet radio show. Actually, the idea was to do another Christmas show in time for the holidays, but as seen throughout the years, scheduling has been tough.

So, after much debate about whether or not to actually do the show, Chris, Jim, Mike, and Alberto met up to do a four-person show for the first time in almost ten years. The result is a great show that is both memorable and hilarious!A long skit-writing segment took place, as Jim and Chris worked hard on skits and Mike and Alberto worked on TNWST reports. It got a bit stressful, as you’ll hear Mike and Alberto making of fun of Jim during the show about it.

Chris’ skit about the WCJM Merchandise Store made the cast laugh hysterically about all the fun new products based on past skits and characters. Jim also paid homage to Matt’s Celebrity Jeopardy from Beyond the Grave skit by doing his own. You’ll be surprised at some of the guests! This is the first WCJM show recorded completely on the computer, as opposed to MiniDiscs or tapes. Thankfully, the recording process went off without a hitch, and the levels came out great.

The Originals Show puts songs by bands while they still had original members alongside the original four cast members of WCJM Radio’s Moore Hits in the Morning. This one’s sure to please and keeps the WCJM free Internet radio station alive and well!
