Nice cover of “World Gone Wrong”, I just discovered the CD a couple of months ago and got into it. (I need to get out more…hadn’t even heard of it-ha ha!) Dylan doing an album of nothing but covers? Wow…Anyway, I’m wondering if it’s just me but I hear a Dmaj7 that Dylan uses for first part of the line “Honey because the World’s Gone Wrong” instead of the G. It gives it an interesting tinge.
Have you heard the “Good As I Been to You” album yet? That’s another set of folk/traditional covers released just before WGW. I think WGW is by far the superior record, and it’s interesting to listen to beside “Time Out of Mind.” (And regardless, they’re both a heck of a lot better than 1973’s “Dylan”!)
On to your point about the chords — I listened to Dylan performance again, and I absolutely agree. At the time I learned the song, I worked from the official Bob Dylan chord book. Then, when I posted my chords, I went from what I knew/remembered. His chord book is notoriously unreliable because he does so many interesting things with the chord progressions and even the chord configurations, tuning, etc.
