“The Man in Me” (Bob Dylan Cover)

By Chris Moore:

I’ve been on a 70’s Dylan kick recently, and I thought I’d present to you one of my favorite overlooked Dylan songs of the decade. “The Man in Me” is from what was initially my least favorite album from his catalog, 1970’s New Morning. I listened to this album around the same time I was listening to Desire, so there really isn’t a comparison to be made, and I wrote off most of the songs on the album. When I went back to it years later, I found some really great songs, such as this one.

It may not be “Like A Rolling Stone” or a song of that caliber, but I hope you’ll take it for what it is — a really sincere, fun Dylan love song. I hope you enjoy it!

I hope you’ll come back to guitarbucketlist.com for more sessions! And, if there’s not enough Fusco-Moore to please here, then check out the all-new Fusco-Moore.com that Jim just put the finishing touches on. If you’re in need of any audio, video, or graphic services or just looking for a new song to listen to, FMP is the place to go! Okay, enough plugging for one day… 🙂

“Excitable Boy” (Warren Zevon Cover)

By Chris Moore:

There’s lots of good stuff happening here at guitarbucketlist.com! I’ve been spurred on by Jim and Jeff’s recent plans for releases and by all of Jim’s tireless work designing the website, so I have a couple “extra’s” for you today.

First of all, I posted my review of Ringo’s Liverpool 8 album a half hour ago. (Another goal of mine this year is to write at least brief reviews of all the new albums I buy this year.) In the coming days and weeks, you can look for reviews of both Sheryl Crow’s and Jack Johnson’s new albums that came out today.

In addition to the CD review, I have also posted a second “Behind the Scenes” video. I had the idea to make this short film when I was recording the session for Warren Zevon’s “Excitable Boy.” It’s really cheesy, but it was easy and fun to make, and I wanted to share it with you all.

Finally, of course, I have posted my second song from one of my absolute favorite artists, Warren Zevon. You may know him for “Werewolves of London,” but he has written so much more! This is one of his more well-known songs and I hope you enjoy it. It’s somewhat disturbing, but if you think about the overall idea of the song, it’s actually an interesting statement from Zevon.

I hope you enjoy all the new posts to be found on the site today!

“Do You Remember?” (Jack Johnson Cover)

By Chris Moore:

Tonight, I introduce an artist that Jim has been asking for weeks why we haven’t covered before…Jack Johnson! This is a song from his last album, In Between Dreams, titled “Do You Remember?” It’s a great acoustic number from this great album, and it’s a perfect fit for this series.

On a side note, if I’ve counted correctly, this is my 60th Laptop Session! What a trip it’s been, and we’re not even halfway through the session-a-day commitment for 2008. It’s a bit daunting, but I hope that our viewership only continues to rise. Help spread the word — send your friends to https://guitarbucketlist.com !

Be sure to check out the archive for more quality videos from Jeff.

See you next session!

“Burning Through” (Indie Music by Songwriter Jeff Copperthite)

By Jeff Copperthite:

Welcome to another edition of Original Wednesday! It’s Jeff Copperthite bringing you another song from the original libraries of us here at Fusco-Moore Productions.

Today I bring you a Quilt song from 2002’s EP “Blanket of Death”. It’s a humorous title for sure, as the songs are not nearly as dark as the EP title implies. You can hear 2 of the 4 songs at my albums page.

I am performing the song “Burning Through” from that EP. It is a wonderful song and I have been addicted to the guitar progression ever since Scott taught me the song. I am happy to add it to our expansive library at The Laptop Sessions.

This is also my 40th Laptop Session!

I am very close to 7k views, and I should cross that line sometime today or tomorrow. I can’t wait to reach 10K views hopefully by the end of the month.

I’m also a proud owner of Homestead’s Revenge – please check it out at Mou Music! Or click the store link at the top of the page! It is an incredible piece of work, and your ears will be blown away.

You the viewers make it possible! Please visit https://www.guitarbucketlist.com and support us!

Editor’s Note: Unfortunately, Jeff’s acoustic cover song music videos are no longer on YouTube, but we decided to keep his cover song blog posts up.  We figured these music blog entries would be good for posterity’s sake and because Jeff always gave such insightful posts each Session.  We hope to see Jeff’s impressive catalog of acoustic rock songs here on the Laptop Sessions cover songs and original music blog again in the future.  But, for now, please make sure to check-out hundreds of other acoustic cover songs from all of your favorite bands here on the Laptop Sessions music blog!
