“Gonna Be There” (New Music by Indie Music Songwriter Chris Moore!)

By Chris Moore:

Welcome to this week’s edition of Original Wednesday! Today, I bring you “Gonna Be There,” a song from MoU’s latest release, Homestead’s Revenge, that Jim and I cowrote. As a special treat, Jim is also playing here and does a great rendition of his guitar solo. But, you really have to listen to the real version to fully appreciate it… and you can do that by going to http://jimfusco.com/albums.html !

“Sober” (Original Song by Indie Music Songwriter Jim Fusco)

By Jim Fusco:

Welcome to Original Wednesday here on the Laptop Sessions! Tonight, I bring you the first ever video starring Jim, Chris, and Becky for my original song from the new MoU album, “Homestead’s Revenge”.

“Sober” is a song I wrote a couple years ago and has become a live favorite whenever we play it. I wrote it during the recording of the first MoU album, but didn’t get to record it until recently, so it remains a “new” song.

I had Chris and Becky help me out for two reasons- first, the harmonies. Second, the fact that my voice kinda gave out tonight right before I went to record another original song called “The Game”. And, for anyone that’s heard that song before, you know it’s not one to sing with a bad vocal range! I guess that will have to wait three weeks.

I hope you enjoy this edition of Original Wednesday!

“Evil Disappointment” (New Music – Indie Music)

By Jeff Copperthite:

Welcome to an event so awesome, it can only come once a week – Original Wednesday! Today, I bring you the first Laptop Sessions edition that is covering something from a great album from FMP’s own Masters of the Universe. Their new album is called “Homestead’s Revenge”, available at MoU’s Website.

The song I have chosen to cover is “Evil Disappointment”, written by Mike Fusco. I got the chance to hear the song before the release of the album (well, only two days before), and I get to play drums when we play it live (or better yet, I “let” Jim play the bass!). This song has a great guitar progression, and the strumming style fits the songs’ lyrics and Mike’s writing style to the tee.

Just as Jim and Chris have reviewed my album “Greenlight”, I may write a review of this album as well.

Meanwhile, enjoy this addition to the growing Original Wednesday library here at FMP’s The Laptop Sessions!

Editor’s Note: Unfortunately, Jeff’s acoustic cover song music videos are no longer on YouTube, but we decided to keep his cover song blog posts up.  We figured these music blog entries would be good for posterity’s sake and because Jeff always gave such insightful posts each Session.  We hope to see Jeff’s impressive catalog of acoustic rock songs here on the Laptop Sessions cover songs and original music blog again in the future.  But, for now, please make sure to check-out hundreds of other acoustic cover songs from all of your favorite bands here on the Laptop Sessions music blog!

New Music from MoU Songwriters – “Homestead’s Revenge” arrives!!

They said it wouldn’t happen. There’s no way the album would ever be released. It was even written about in the newspapers. But, these words of discouragement are what seem to drive Masters of the Universe.

Fast-forward two years to the day since MoU’s first (self-titled) album release.

“Homestead’s Revenge” combines the songwriting skills of all five members along with expert harmonies and instrumentation. The album is nothing less than a polished work of art.

The album was originally released in 2008 in two forms: Digital download and physical CD.

We know you’ll enjoy the album and guarantee it’s the best you’ll hear in 2008! We’d love to hear all comments and if you have any questions, we’ll be happy to answer.
