Welcome, everyone, to a new edition of The Guest Sessions here on the Laptop Sessions acoustic cover songs music video blog. Today’s video is from yet another band that I never even heard of before seeing this Guest Sessions submission. It’s a trio group called Dirty Vegas. I think that’s pretty funny because, well, have you been to Vegas? No, I’m just kidding- I actually LOVE Las Vegas and think it gets a bad rep. It’s actually a pretty awesome place and it’s not really dirty at all, considering how many people are there year-round!

No, the funny part to me is that the band Dirty Vegas is actually from England! That’s right. I’m thinking of coming up with a band called “Dirty Liverpool” to make up for it. 🙂

I received today’s Guest Session cover song music video submission from a man named Rob Nakai, who goes by “HolidayRob” on YouTube. He is a very talented guitar and singer- I checked out a few of his videos online while browsing his YouTube page. I decided to feature this video first, as the quality of the video itself was superior to some earlier videos.

The song is called “Days Go By”, and no, children of the 90s- this isn’t the theme song to “Family Matters”. I know you’re disappointed. But, give this song a shot- I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised! Congrats to HolidayRob for making the Guest Sessions this week on the best cover song music blog on the internet: the Laptop Sessions!

Good evening! I hope you are well and looking forward to another Fusco-Moore Original Wednesday song. It’s my turn this time and I am digging into the “oldie and somewhat goodie” library (to quote my good friend Scott), for a song from Quilt’s 2003 album “Expressions”. I am playing track 3 from it titled “Bliss”.

This song is one that I had written in a completely different style, but thanks to the awesome abilities of Scott, the sound that came out on the album was much different, and much better. This video meshes the two ways I know the song, and came out as probably one of my better Original Wednesday videos in a while.

“Fleeting Thought” (Acoustic Original song by Jeff Copperthite)

I hope you are having a great evening, and thank you for coming on to guitarbucketlist.com and checking out your Original Wednesday selection. Today I bring you a never-before-heard Jeff Copperthite original song.

The song is called “Fleeting Thought”, and was a song I wrote during the Greenlight writing sessions. No recorded version exists, except for this video. The song is about being unable to control your past, but being able to affect your future.

When I write songs, I almost always use the acoustic guitar to do so. However, before I actually record a song in the studio, the arrangement usually gets changed quite a few times. So while you will probably hear this song in a future album, the arrangement will probably be quite different.

Also, my voice was giving me some problems today, so I was unable to sing this song as well as I usually can. However, the guitar playing came out well, but it does drown out my voice a little bit. Still, the performance is a good one and I am glad I get to bring it to you today.

“One After 909” (Beatles Cover)

Welcome to Thumpin’ Thursday!  I’ve dug back in time for this week’s video, and gone to a classic song, and one of our many Beatles cover songs.

The song is “One After 909” by The Beatles, from their album “Let It Be”.  I wonder if this song is in their new Rockband game?  Well, if it isn’t, it perhaps should be.  It’s simple, but just has a catchy, bluesy feel to it.

I first heard this song thanks to Chris, when the two of us and our friend Alberto did a show at his house.  This song opened the show and it stuck with me because of how catchy it is.

When you look at the lyrics, you see it’s definitely a train story.  It apparently is about a man who’s going to pick up his friend/girlfriend/wife/whatever at the train station, but the woman, who was supposed to get on 909, gets on the one after!

I ordered a new HD TV yesterday because our old box went boom on me.  I was watching Sportscenter Tuesday morning and all of a sudden “BEOUUUU”, and then that was followed by the smell of electronics burning.  Not good.  So, I purchased a 32 inch LG LCD with a whole lotta HDMI inputs.  I was a little nervous, but then I noticed my cable box has an HDMI out.

Funny thing, is last week I said to my wife “Do you think it’s time to get a new TV?”

Stupid karma.
